Xgrid and Cocoa Apps
In relation to my earlier post, Drew McCormack writes an interesting how to article about Xgrid and distributed terminal goodness. God bless MacDevCenter. He is promising in his next article to sport some cocoa examples of batch image processing. This is quite tantalizing. I look forward to his examples. One of these days I'm going to learn cocoa, and this might be a kicker to get started.
I was surprised to see that he's using an iBook 600mhz for his tinkering, with a 400mhz iMac as a backup. And that he only has a 466Mhz G4 at work. There is very little distributed joy on 2 slower older macs. I know Nic's ibook sucks, but he's not writing articles for O' Reilly either.
How long until Xgrid is standard in all Mac OS X installations? I really want FFmpegX running across 20 machines.
