Mac vs. Windows vs. Linux metaphorically explained

Charles Miller has updated the classic "if operating systems were like..." metaphor in a couple of brilliant posts. His thesis, to use a much too loaded word, is that Windows is a whore, while the Mac is a lover. Read the post, and it will make sense.

The logical follow-up question is, "Where does Linux fit in?" The answer: Linux is your psychotic ex-girlfriend.

I read it and didn't make sense to me. If Apple is a lover, she is trying to screw me more than Microsoft, which effectively makes Apple only a very expensive whore, not a lover.
