Remote Desktop 2
Apple has released Remote Desktop 2, which is tre cool. You can see a list of the changes from 1.2 here. There are a lot of them. Here are a couple of the big ones.
Multiple .pkg and .mpkg installs. No more running software update on every machine. Do it on one machine, download the packages, and push them to your users. Nice.
Client config files. Make a change in Printer Setup, and push to all your users.
Directory Services-based client authentication. Don't need to have a local admin user on the computer. This is very cool, especially if you are net-booting clients and pushing home folders over Open Directory.
VNC support is alos now included in both the client and the server, allowing clients to be controlled by a VNC server, and allowing an ARD server to admin VNC clients.
All in all, this is a very impressive update to Remote Desktop, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
