TGB to Scoble RE: Vista
I'd love to see Scoble's response to this bit over at creationrobot.
I'm not feeling warm fuzzies about Vista so far.
Robert, it seems like there's little reason for MS to be playing the RIAA and MPAA's games on this. I know Mr. Gates wants to get MS into the living room, playing movies and music, but shouldn't us geeks (and consumers) demand that they meet us half way on this? Why are we paying to have our current capabilities removed for the sake of failing business models? Why is MS building these tools for the media industry?
I understand we want to make it inviting for them to come to the playground, but why are we building the playground in their back yard?
Posted by Joe Mullins at July 27, 2005 02:00 PMThe odds of a respose are about zero. No-one is supposed to mention Vista is less 'free' (able/creative) than any other OS Microsoft has ever made.
